Fall is our favorite time of the year. Shane loves it for hunting season. He has already managed to get an antelope & an elk.Check out this pose. I can't get him to do this for family pictures, but here is is with a dead animal and guts all over smiling!!Sorry for the graphic image, the poor animals guts are hanging out! Anyone like elk meat? We've got a freezer full! And can you believe the snow!?! The picture was taken last weekend! This was the first year Shane took Bricker with him. Bricker only lasted one night and came home. He doesn't like getting up early, especially in the cold. While the boys have been off hunting Madelyn, Tate, & I have been pretty busy too. Canning... Love the homemade canned foods, Hate all the work/mess it creates! This year I've managed to can peaches, pears, salsa, pizza sauce, & do some jam.Finished up the pears today, and I'm DONE with canning for this year! It's so much work. Shane asked me to do apple sauce today, I told him to go to the store!! My feet kill, my kitchen is sticky, the kids need some mommy time, and I'm down right tired of my kitchen! It is a good feeling to have it all done though, and I know we'll enjoy it through-out the year, so it's all worth it.
Besides all the canning, Madelyn, Tate, & I were able to take a little trip to visit my Aunt in California for a week. She hasn't been feeling well and needed some upliftment from family, so we took an unplanned trip to visit her with my mom. It was great to visit & catch up on things. She is the last of my family still in California, so she gets lonely. Here are a few pics from our trip...Madelyn & Grandma Susie (my mom), at the beach by my Aunts house.Tate wasn't so sure about the big waves, he wanted nothing to do with them or the water. He didn't want to get very far from me!Our second day went much better, and he realized it wasn't a whole lot different from playing in the sandbox back home. It was a nice little trip. We miss Aunt Donna and hope she continues to do well!

I hear ya on the canning!! It is a lot of work, good thing the taste is worth it! Super cute family!
Barry is super jealous of Shane right now! I showed him the hunting pictures and I totally saw envy in his eyes!
That is awesome that you have canned so much because you're right, it's not fun, but worth it. If you do end up canning applesauce, grandma has lots of apples on her tree in the backyard. I keep thinking I'll get around to it, but I am not sure if I will. Anyway, I hope things are going well for you.
P.S. Ellie is fits into the outfit you gave her now and it's adorable. Thank you.
